I am Ella, a professional 46-year-old yo-yo dieter for the past 25 years. Two years ago, I decided to throw in the towel when it comes to losing weight, enjoy my food, and invest in plus size clothes. However, I discovered that along with the extra pounds came cramps, looking and feeling old, and of course a guarantee of various diseases down the road. When my always perfect blood pressure stopped being perfect, I changed my tune. This time around though, internet, books, or really silly diets wouldn't be enough. I needed a personalized plan. My search brought me to NOVA WELLNESS CENTER and I couldn't be happier! I found a pleasant environment, courteous office staff, excellent dietitians who explained to me basic things that after 25 years of dieting, I still ignored. And of course, Dr. Chaudhary, who's professional and knowledgeable without the distant, judgmental, and cold attitude which most doctors seem to have! Not seeing the cookie-cutter BMI chart in her office, I asked what she thought my goal weight should be. Dr. C gave me a number much higher than what the BMI chart says (ha!) but she also suggested that we re-evaluate along the way. (I had no problem with the number on the chart, it just doesn't seem realistic for my body structure.) Dr. Chaudhary saw me, Ella, not an overweight 46-year-old of a height of 5'2"! I was sold! Fast forward a few months later, I have lost 44lbs and I am halfway to my goal weight. What's different than all the previous diets? Those 44lbs were pure fat, not muscle. (Yes, previously, the number on the scale was coming down, too. However, little did I know I was losing precious muscle, as well as fat.) As a result, my body was rapidly transformed, my problem areas were gone sooner than expected which boosted my morale tremendously! And all that at a very affordable price due to the fact that my insurance covers most of the cost. My advice? This time do it right, this time get the help of the professionals who will also oversee that you keep the weight off so that this is the last time.
